Regarding Basegarden
formation:
Founded in 2013 by Chou Szu-Chi, a professional baseball player from Hualien, the “Ball Sprout Foundation” was established after he received the “Kuo Yuan-Chih Baseball Scholarship,” which deeply influenced and encouraged him. After becoming a professional baseball player, he dedicated himself to supporting grassroots baseball education in Hualien, tracing the history of Taiwanese baseball, and preserving baseball culture. The foundation is used to establish scholarships and promote reading among grassroots baseball teams. Its main purpose is to encourage academically excellent young players, hoping that children who love baseball can receive a quality education while pursuing their baseball skills, ensuring that their academic achievements are not neglected. Therefore, our core mission is to emphasize the development of basic education and character in grassroots baseball teams, hoping that through the association’s efforts, more people will pay attention and become involved.
In addition to focusing on the development of grassroots baseball education, another key focus of the Baseball Sprouts Foundation is to trace the history of baseball in Taiwan, preserve the baseball culture and important baseball artifacts, and hope to leave more baseball history that belongs to Taiwan.
